Erik Haussmann
Biography
I have been involved with the College of Earth and Mineral Science Student Council since the first day that I arrived at Penn State University. After completing the TOTEMS (total orientation to the College of Earth and Mineral Science) I realized just how important my college's student government was to the daily student life. I enrolled in the College of Earth and Mineral Science Student Council as soon as my first semester started, and have been a part of it ever since. This year I took on the responsibility of Academic Integrity Chairman, and unsatisfied with the lack of responsibility bestowed upon me in this position, I have decided I needed to further help my college's student government. Last year I was chosen as 1 of 2 male freshmen to be a mentor for the TOTEMS program, the same program that had sparked my interest in student government the previous year.
Platform
With the elder council representatives of the student council graduating, it is time for myself and my peers to take over. I am already very good friends with the Treasurer and the Secretary of the EMS student council, who like myself, are sophomores in Materials Science and Engineering. I have always been a very good linguist and litigator. I feel that I will be able to use my communication skills in relaying the information discussed at the UPUA meetings to the College of Earth and Mineral Science Student Council. With a strong resume, and a great GPA, I know that I am the best candidate for the position of "College of Earth and Mineral Sciences Representative to the UPUA."
