For the past two years, UPUA has been laying their foundation as a legitimate form of student government. While they have done well in organizing themselves, during this time they inadvertently overlooked the needs of the student body. Now, however, the time has come for UPUA to create policies and programs responding to the demands of the students, given the proper leadership.
On March 26th, 2008, we will have an opportunity to change the course of our University.
We have become familiar with the concerns of Penn State students through our interaction with them as members of UPUA Legal Affairs. That being said, we have a detailed plan outlining our goals for not only the next two semesters, but for the years to come:
- Reconstruct UPUA’s budget to better serve the students
- Enhance student safety on campus by working with Penn State Police
- Work with ITS to improve the efficiency, navigation and operational ease of ANGEL, E-LION and WEBMAIL
- Arrange and facilitate meetings between student organizations and University representatives
- Organize student club to help maintain cleanliness and beauty of campus and downtown State College
- Facilitate meetings between University officials and CATA to enhance bus routes and efficiency
- Provide free student tickets to more men’s and women’s basketball games either through University funding or sponsorship
We want to be sure we leave a lasting positive impact upon the Pennsylvania State University, and we believe our goals are bold enough to turn heads, yet realistic enough to achieve.
Vote on March 26th, and Get Lucky with Cascino!
