Second Annual Virtual Student Hangout
The first few weeks of classes are filled with hustling and bustling students trying to get adjusted to their college schedules. This is a particular problem for those who are brand new to campus. It can be pretty overwhelming for some after spending a week trying to find where your classes are, what books you need (Or don’t need), and finding out what clubs to join. That’s where the University Park Undergraduate Association comes in!
As your undergraduate student government, we want to help ease the stress of incoming students and give them a head start on what they need to know about Penn State. In collaboration with a multitude of student leaders and organizations, we will be hosting a Freshman & Incoming Student Hangout on August 10th.
On August 10th students will have the opportunity to attend two sessions: one being an on campus panel of students leaders within the Freeman Auditorium from 2:30 – 5:00 PM and the other is an online portion hosted on Google Hangout from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. On the day of the hangout, students can visit pennstateupua.com/hangout or click this shortened url https://goo.gl/F7hkSk to check out the live stream of the hangout.
If you’re a first year or an incoming student, please feel free to ask any of our hosts any questions that you have about their respective organizations or even just Penn State in general. After our hosts introduces themselves, the remaining time for both sessions will be open for any questions the audience may have. You can submit questions by tweeting @UPUA using the #PSUhangout. Any other questions that you may have can also be submitted via e-mail to UPUA@psu.edu.
Some of our hosts for the hangout include members from the UPUA, CCSG, THON, Onward State, the Daily Collegian, Homecoming, the Asian/Pacific American Caucus, Fresh Start, and the Association of Residence Hall Students. Hope to see you there!
