UPUA Approves Funding for Day of Giving and Supports Ridesharing Services

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Sept. 21, 2016 – The University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) met Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. in 129A HUB.  

The meeting started with a special presentation by Writers Organized to Represent Diverse Stories (W.O.R.D.S). The organization works to create an environment that is conducive to sharing personal stories, experiences and to promote discussion of diversity on campus.

Chair of Student Life, Kyra Rogan brought to the floor Resolution #09-11: “Funding of The Nadav Ezra Day of Giving”. The resolution recommends funding for ten charter buses to cover transportation for the Nadav Ezra Day of Giving on Oct. 16, 2016. On this day over 40 Penn State organizations will participate in community service on and off campus. The resolution passed unanimously. Next, resolution #10-11: “Continued Support of Ride-Sharing Services” was brought to the assembly floor by Facilities Chairman, Brent Rice. The resolution supports inexpensive ridesharing services such as Uber and Lyft. This resolution also passed unanimously.

The University Park Undergraduate Association works to provide students representation at the highest levels of administration and build programs to the benefit of undergraduates at University Park.
