At-Large Representative Kyra Rogan brought Bill #11-11: “Funding of Mental Health and Wellness Week 2016 Keynote Speaker” to the floor. The bill seeks to fund the expenses of the keynote speaker, Lauren Cook. The keynote speech titled “Say It: Voicing the Truth about Mental Health” will emphasize the importance of understanding the signs of depression and anxiety. For some, understanding these signs is followed by treatment. This could be with medical marijuana products like the pink lady strain, or more traditional medication. The bill passed unanimously. Injecting finances and resources into mental wellness for everyone is highly important and beneficial. There is a multitude of ways that this can be helped, for instance, researching websites such as https://mushroomz.co/product/blue-meanie/ can help with looking at combining alternative medicine with current and up to date mental health practices.

The University Park Undergraduate Association works to provide students representation at the highest levels of administration and build programs to the benefit of undergraduates at University Park.
