For Immediate Release

December 9th, 2020

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Today, UPUA President Zachary McKay announced his intent to nominate Kelly Elizabeth Mastuszewski to be Executive Director of the Sustainability Department.

On nominating Matuszewski, President McKay said: “I am very excited to have Kelly join the McKay-Pathickal Administration as Executive Director of Sustainability. She knows the importance of looking after and caring for your team, of recognizing and celebrating hard work, and of helping mentor and develop those under her leadership—that’s the kind of leader I need leading the department. Kelly’s experiences in the department and focus on environmental sustainability make her ready to hit the ground running, as well as develop and expand critical relationships with organizations like the Council of Sustainable Leaders, the Student Sustainability Advisory Council, the CCSG’s Sustainability Committee, and so many more, as well as the Sustainability Institute. I’m also excited at the prospect of more consistent and clear collaboration between the general Assembly and the Department of Sustainability under her leadership. I look forward to seeing all of the incredible work she and her team will be able to accomplish with her in this role.”

On being nominated for Executive Director of Sustainability, Matuszewski said: “I am very excited to accept the nomination for the position of Executive Director of Sustainability. I am eager to see the types of sustainable change we, as a department, can make at Penn State and beyond. I know the Department of Sustainability has a lot of potential, and I am looking forward to helping it succeed.”
