Executive Order on Adding Resources Related to Sexual Assault and Misconduct Prevention to the UPUA Website

ADDING RESOURCES RELATED TO SEXUAL ASSAULT AND MISCONDUCT PREVENTION TO THE UPUA WEBSITE

 

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution of the University Park Undergraduate Association, it is hereby ordered as follows: 

 

Section 1. Purpose. 

  1. The UPUA website centralizes many student resources on its website, yet does not adequately list resources available for survivors of sexual assault and/or misconduct. Such a page would be able to be distributed publicly at various programming events hosted by the UPUA, and may be updated as necessary.

  2. The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and the UPUA has a duty to ensure resources related to sexual assault and misconduct are made easily accessible to the students it serves and represents.

 

Sec 2. Policy. 

  1. The Department of Outreach shall create a new page with the following sexual assault and misconduct prevention resources on the UPUA website:

 

University Resources

Penn State Gender Equity Center (GenEq)

Holds resources for survivors of sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating or relationship violence, stalking, and/or sexual exploitation. These pages are focused primarily on dating, domestic, or relationship violence concerns. Website: https://studentaffairs.psu.edu/genderequity

24-hour community hotline. Can provide a variety of referrals to local resources in addition to providing general counseling services.

  1. The resources shall be made available under the website’s “Resources” tab.

  2. The Department of Rights and Equity’s Director of Sexual Assault and Misconduct Prevention shall provide recommended changes to this list to the Department of Outreach as necessary.

  1. Special acknowledgments are given to the following individuals for their contributions to this action for the betterment of student life at University Park:
