As the Judicial Branch of the UPUA, the Judicial Board is comprised of nine (9) Justices—led by the Chief Justice of the Judicial Board—and is tasked with presiding over all of UPUA’s internal conflicts, and overseeing the actions of the UPUA, ensuring compliance with internal bylaws, policies, and governing documents.
Is a sophomore at Penn State majoring in Political Science and History with a Legal Studies Certificate. Jordan is a Paterno Fellow in the Schreyer Honors College from Long Island, NY. On Campus, Jordan is also a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, is on the Executive Board for Penn State Mock Trial, and founded Penn State Moot Court. Jordan plans to attend law school after graduating in the May of 2022. President Zachary McKay nominated him as Chief Justice in the fall of 2020.
Is a sophomore at Penn State majoring in Political Science and minoring in Communication Arts and Sciences and Criminal Justice with a Legal Studies Certificate. Jake is a Paterno Fellow in the Schreyer Honors College from Downingtown, PA. On Campus, Jake is also a member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, on the Penn State Mock trial exec board, and a student conduct board member. Jake plans to attend law school after graduating in the May of 2023. Jake joined the Judicial board in 2019, his freshman year.
Is a junior at Penn State majoring in Finance and International Politics with a minor in History. David is a Fellow in the Schreyer Honors College from New Hope, PA. On Campus, David is the President of Out & Allies in Business, VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion of Smeal Student Council, Liberal Arts Undergraduate Council Treasurer, and sits on the UP Student Fee Board. David will be interning in New York for Citi’s Investment Banking division for the summer of 2021. David joined Judicial Board in September of 2020.
Is a freshman and is studying Mechanical Engineering. He currently serves as the Judicial Board Clerk and was appointed in his freshman year. Andrew is involved in a number of activities around campus including Mock Trial, Moot Court, Penn State Orchestra, and UPUA Freshman Council
Is a senior student at Penn State studying Human Rights, Arabic, and Political Science. While not working with the J-Board, Aidan can be found with the Lion Ambassadors or singing with his A Cappella group, the Pennharmonics! After graduating this may Aidan will be attending law school at the University of New Hampshire, Pitt, or UConn (decisions, decisions…)
Amelia Dodoo, Associate Justice, (she/her/hers) is a sophomore at Penn State studying Psychology and African Studies in the Schreyer Honors College. She is a member of the Mock Trial Association on campus, where she also sits on the Executive Board and competes frequently over the weekend. Amelia aspires to work as a criminal defence attorney and eventually move back to Ghana to open her own firm. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and practicing her violin. President Zachary McKay nominated her as an Associate Justice of the Judicial Board, and she took their seat in 2020.
Jessica Strait, Associate Justice, (she/her/hers) is a junior and fourth generation Penn Stater from Abingdon, Virginia. She is studying Applied Data Sciences in the Schreyer Honors College and hopes to work in sustainable agriculture. She presides over Days for Girls at Penn State, a nonprofit that sews reusable menstrual hygiene products, and works as a research assistant in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. Jessica is an alumna of the Technology Student Association where she served as National Vice President and competed in parliamentary procedure, videography, and website design events. President Zachary McKay nominated her as an Associate Justice, and she took her seat on May 27th, 2020.
is a sophomore majoring in political science, philosophy, and sociology from State College, PA. They are a Paterno Fellow, a coder with the McCourtney Institute of Democracy, and a member of the Penn State International Affairs and Debate Association. President Zachary McKay nominated them as an Associate Justice of the Judicial Board, and they took their seat in 2020.
Justin Korman, Associate Justice,
(he/him/his) is a junior at Penn State majoring in journalism, with a minor in history. He was born in State College, Pennsylvania, and attended the State College Area School District. He is a member of the Presidential Leadership Academy and a manager for the Penn State women’s volleyball team. Off campus, he is an assistant girls’ basketball coach at State College Area High School. President Cody Heaton nominated him as an Associate Justice of the Judicial Board, and he took his seat in 2018.
